     as you may recollect i always said put your trust in british banks. so far no saver has lost any money despite northern rock and bradfotd and bingley going to the wall

    You have had ICESAVE in your cash ISA facts for a year now,why have you taken this off?As thousands of your readers took this up?

    As you say, Icesave products have been in the Moneyfacts Best Buy tables for some time. This is because the products themselves fully met our research criteria and we judged them to be a best buy product. Given that Icesave’s parent company, Landsbanki, have been taken into receivership by the Iceland Government the products are no longer available and so have been removed from our tables.

     Does anybody know if we loose our interest oweing when accounts are transfered to

    ING or paid out by the compensation scheme?

    Hi Tony,

    I don't know for sure. Interest capitalised to the account certainly is included so logically that which has been earned but not capitalised should be included. I've hunted around for more information but can't find the answer anywhere I'm afraid.

    I know with regards to the Financial Compensation Scheme that it included capital plus interest, up to the £50,000 limit.
