Investment Bonds Best Buys

| More
If you are worried by stock market volatility but looking for the potential for better returns than a traditional savings account, our structured products Best Buys offer an alternative. These are fixed term products linked to the performance of the FTSE 100 or other stock market or house price indices. The return you may receive at the end of the term is defined at the outset.

This may be a fixed amount paid if the index rises or remains unchanged or it may be a proportion of the growth achieved by the index. Our with profits bonds past performance reflects the returns achieved by these products over the past ten years while our guaranteed income bond rates can help you choose the best rates available.

Investment Bonds Best Buys Explained

Our investment bonds section covers three different options.

  • Structured products are fixed term accounts requiring a lump sum investment which tracks the performance of a stock market index but without risking your initial investment.
  • With profits bonds require a lump sum investment and although they do not have a fixed term, you need to be able to leave your money invested long term, typically for at least five years. The amount you invest, usually a minimum of £5,000, buys units in the insurer’s with profits fund. This fund invests in a wide range of underlying assets such as shares, fixed interest securities and property. Each year bonuses are added to the sum assured either by an increase in the price of units or by an allocation of extra units.
