Businesses looking to deposit funds over a short term can find some decent rates on offer with short term Business Bonds. These tend to offer better rates than those on Business Deposit Accounts. Investors need to be happy to lock their money away over a short term period, such as one year. Here are the top five rates on offer today:

Julian Hodge Bank


Its Capital Millennium Bond has a rate of 3.35% fixed for one year. The account is available to those who invest a minimum of £1,000, maximum investment £1 million. Earlier access is not permitted. Additions allowed while issue remains open. Savers can manage the account post, in branch or by telephone.

Aldermore


The Aldermore Fixed Rate Business Savings Account offers a rate of 3.25% fixed for one year. The account is available to those who invest a minimum of £1,000, maximum investment £1 million. Access allowed within 14 days of account opening but interest will not be paid. Additions allowed while issue remains open. Savers can manage the account by telephone or online.

Bank of Cyprus UK


Its Business Bond has a rate of 3.20% fixed for one year. The account is available to those who invest a minimum of £1,000, maximum investment £1 million. Earlier access is not permitted. Savers can manage the account by post, in branch or by telephone.

Santander


The Santander Business Bond offers a rate of 3.20% fixed for one year. The account is available to those who invest a minimum of £5,000, maximum investment £5 million. Earlier access is not permitted. Savers can manage the account by post or via telephone.

Bank of Cyprus UK


The Bank of Cyprus UK Business FlexiBond provides investors penalty free access to 30% of their deposit on a 35 day notice basis. Offering a rate of 3.15% fixed for one year, the account is available to those who invest a minimum of £10,000, maximum investment £1 million. Savers can manage the account by post, in branch or by telephone.
