Since their launch in 1999, Individual Savings Accounts, or ISAs as they are commonly known, have proved to be one of the most popular ways to save money.
Available on either a fixed or variable basis, savers with ISA accounts do not have to pay any tax whatsoever on any interest gained.
The official ISA season may still be a few weeks away; however, a number of competitive variable rates are emerging into the market available to savers with a variety of savings needs.

Penny says… "The 60 Day Notice ISA leads the variable ISA market with a top drawer rate of 2.80%.
"Requiring a minimum deposit of just £1, this account should prove popular with savers who do not need immediate access to their funds."
Chorley Building Society 60 Day Notice Cash ISA
Penny says… "Also requiring advance notice of 60 days to access funds is this deal from Chorley & District BS.
"Sitting proudly in silver position, this deal pays a highly competitive annual return for investments of just £1 and over."
Cheshire Building Society ISA Saver (Issue 1)
Penny says… "Sitting comfortably within the top three cash ISAs is this deal from Cheshire BS, offering a competitive rate to savers with higher deposits of £1,000 and over.
"As with all accounts that include an introductory bonus, savers must be sure to review their account just prior to the twelve month period expiring to avoid reverting to a lower rate."
Melton Mowbray Building Society 100 Day Notice Cash ISA
Penny says… "Paying a set rate of 2.40%, this cash ISA requires varying deposits depending on where the saver lives.
"Early access is not permitted, so savers must be prepared to give 100 days' notice before dipping into their funds."
Harpenden Building Society Simply ISA
Penny says… "This no-nonsense ISA pays an attractive rate of 2.25% for deposits of just £1 and over.
"Savers can access their money without having to give their provider advance notice and funds from previous years' ISAs can also be transferred in."
Stafford Railway Building Society Cash ISA
Penny says… "Mirroring the appealing rate of the Simply ISA, this deal from Stafford Railway BS offers an attractive savings package.
"Unlike the Harpenden BS ISA, however, savers cannot transfer in existing ISA funds."
