Hinckley and Rugby BS has sportingly reduced the rate on its two year discounted variable rate mortgage deal by 0.20%.

Now available at 2.44%, when compared with other 75% loan-to-value products, this has the lowest initial rate.

However, borrowers have to bear in mind that there are other mortgages available at very similar rates, with fees almost £600 lower than the £795 payable here.

Four out of five Moneyfacts stars have been awarded.
