Norwich & Peterborough BS has unveiled a new five year fixed rate mortgage certain to make borrowers' mouths water.

With a rate of 4.49%, the deal is available up to 80% loan-to-value and is competitively priced for those with a 20% deposit.

The fee of £995 is on a par with many of its rivals and whilst some borrowers may be deterred by the lack of incentives, it is amongst the best mortgage deals in its field.

Four out of five Moneyfacts stars are richly deserved.
