Barclays has extended its fixed rate savings portfolio with the launch of a five year fixed rate bond.

A rate of 4.75% is available for savers with at least £50K to invest, which is amongst the market leading returns for long term bonds.

The minimum deposit of £500 returns a rate of 4.25%.

As with most fixed rate bonds, early access to funds is not allowed, and additional investments are not permitted either.

Four out of five Moneyfacts stars have been awarded.
