Barclays has launched a new two year fixed rate bond that pays an impressive 3.70% interest on the top tier of investment.

The account pays a yearly rate of 3.30% (3.25% monthly) on a minimum investment of £500, and a rate of 3.70% (3.64%) on deposits of £50K or more.

No early access or further additions are permitted, so savers should be sure of the amount they can afford to invest before they open the account.

This is a welcome addition to the Barclays range, although the top rate can be gained elsewhere for a much lower investment.

Four out of five Moneyfacts stars have been awarded.
