Norwich & Peterborough BS has made a significant increase in the interest paid on its short term fixed rate bond.

The one year fixed rate bond now pays 2.85% (+0.60%), and monthly options have also been upped.

Following the 0.60% increase in rate to 2.85% the one year fixed ISA is now amongst the market leaders in its field.

The fact that earlier access is permitted, albeit subject to a hefty penalty of 180 days' loss of interest, will be seen as a plus.

Four out of five Moneyfacts stars have been awarded.
