Leeds Building Society has laid down a marker with its new three year fixed rate ISA for the 2011/12 tax allowance.

Paying a market-leading rate for the three year term of 4.16%, it also has the advantage of allowing notice and penalty free access to up to 25% of the investment.

Unlike many fixed rate ISAs, further withdrawals are permitted on 120 days' loss of interest.

The low minimum investment of £1 is also a plus.

Four out of five Moneyfacts stars are well deserved.
