Northern Rock has expanded its range of internet savings accounts with the launch of Online Reward.

Paying 3.11%, this new no notice account sits just below the market leaders in its field.

However, as the rate includes a bonus of 1.61% for 12 months, a review will be required when it expires to make sure the account remains competitive.

Requiring a minimum investment of £5K, it must also be remembered that the number of penalty-free withdrawals is restricted to six per year.

Four out of five Moneyfacts stars are a just reward.
