Whiteaway Laidlaw Bank has increased the rate on its 90 Day Notice Direct account to 3.02%.

The rise means this variable rate account is now only just shy of the market leaders when compared to similar notice accounts.

With no bonus artificially boosting the rate in the short term, this account pays a respectable interest rate, often seen only on accounts with longer notice periods or higher minimum investments.

As early access to funds is not allowed, savers have to be certain they are able to commit to fulfilling the notice period.

Four out of five Moneyfacts stars have been rewarded.
