Credit cards Date:
AA has increased the length of its interest-free term for balance transfers and purchases on its credit card to a joint market-leading 24 months, earning it an 'outstanding' rating.
Dual Credit Card MasterCard now has a 24-month 0% interest term for both balance transfers and purchases, up from 20 months. This enhances its competitiveness and enables it to share the top spot in its sector. A fee of 2.98% will be charged.
Balance transfers must be made within 92 days of the account being opened in order to qualify for the 0% deal. Once the initial offers expire, balance transfers will be charged at 19.9% per annum while standard purchases will carry a charge of 19.9% APR.
As an added bonus, borrowers taking out this card will be given a 40% discount on AA European breakdown cover on trips of three days or more (available until 1.1.16).
Applications by phone and online can be made by borrowers who are at least 18 years old with an annual income of £8,000. Applicants should remember that rates are representative and dependent on their credit history.
By extending its interest-free term to 24 months, this card has managed to move up the charts and take a place alongside the market-leader of its sector. Borrowers who are looking to clear their credit card debt and spread the cost of future purchases are therefore likely to view this deal with interest. This is an outstanding product that fully deserves the highest Moneyfacts rating.
