Barclaycard has increased the length of its 0% offer for balance transfers and purchases on one of its credit cards, confirming its place in the Moneyfacts charts and earning it an 'outstanding' rating as a result.

The basics…

The Barclaycard Platinum Purchase and Balance Transfer Visa now has a 20-month interest-free term for both balance transfers and purchases, enabling it to sit comfortably in the charts.

The finer details...

An introductory balance transfer fee of just 0.9% is payable (after a partial refund) and balances must be transferred within 60 days of the account opening in order to qualify for the interest-free deal.

Once the initial offers expire, balance transfers will be charged at an annual rate of 18.9%, while standard purchases will attract a charge of 18.9% APR.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old with a minimum annual income of £20,000. Borrowers should remember that rates are representative and dependent on their credit rating.

Why we like it…

The extension to the interest-free deals on this card has cemented its coveted position in the charts, something that is sure to catch the eye of borrowers. The low introductory balance transfer fee heightens the appeal of this deal yet further, ensuring that it fully deserves the highest rating.

Moneyfacts rating: Outstanding
