Halifax has boosted the term of its purchase and balance transfer offer on its 0% interest credit card, enabling it to improve its position in the charts.

The basics…

Halifax Balance Transfer and Purchase Credit Card MasterCard now has a 24-month interest-free term for both balance transfers and purchases, which allows it to secure a better chart position. An introductory fee of 2.50% will be charged for balance transfers.

The finer details…

In order for borrowers to benefit from the interest-free balance transfer deal, balances must be moved within 90 days of opening an account. Once the introductory offers end, balance transfers will carry an annual charge of 18.95% (with a fee of 3.00%), while standard purchases will be charged at a rate of 18.9% APR.

Borrowers must be at least 18 years old and should remember that all rates are representative and dependent on their credit rating. Applications can be made by phone and online.

Why we like it…

This card's competitiveness has been boosted by the increase to its introductory offers. Borrowers who are keen to get a handle on their credit card debts while also spreading the cost of future purchases are therefore likely to pay attention to this deal and its eye-catching update. This is an outstanding product that fully deserves the highest Moneyfacts rating.
