Halifax has increased the introductory purchase deal on its credit card by three months, seeing it storm to the top of the Moneyfacts charts for its sector.

The basics…

Halifax Purchase Credit Card MasterCard now offers 0% interest on purchases for a market-leading 20 months (17 months previously), and has also reduced its balance transfer fee to just 1% for transfers made within the first 90 days.

The finer details…

After the introductory deal ends, purchases will be charged at the slightly increased standard rate of 18.9% APR. The card also offers an introductory 0% balance transfer period of six months from the date of issue, after which a rate of 18.95% will be applied, the same rate as for cash advances.

Why we like it…

Offering the longest interest-free purchase deal in the market, this card could be a highly competitive option for those wanting to spread the cost of purchases.
