Barclaycard has added a new 28-month 0% balance transfer credit card to its range, earning it an 'excellent' rating for its competitive rate and terms.
Platinum 28 Month Balance Transfer Visa has a 28-month interest-free period for balance transfers with a low introductory fee of 1.30% (after a partial refund). A six-month interest-free period is also offered for purchases.
Once the initial offers expire, standard purchases will be charged at 18.9% APR while balance transfers will attract a yearly charge of 18.9%.
To apply for the card, borrowers must be aged 21 years or older and have an annual income of at least £20,000. Applications can be made online, by phone or by post. Borrowers should remember that rates are representative and dependent on their credit history.
Borrowers looking for a competitive deal with which to clear their outstanding credit card balance are likely to welcome this new offer, which has a competitive 0% balance transfer term and a low fee. However, borrowers must still be careful to clear the balance before the interest-free offer ends to prevent high interest adding to the bill.
