Furness Building Society has increased the rates of selected savings products by up to 0.45%, enabling its one-year fixed rate ISA to move into the Moneyfacts charts.
1 Year Fixed Rate Issue 106 now pays a competitive rate of 1.65% on maturity, a top-10 rate in its sector.
This account can be opened and operated in branch and by post with a minimum investment of £1,000.
Further additions are not permitted but it is possible to transfer in existing cash ISAs. Savers are also able to access funds early, albeit upon closure of the account and the loss of 180 days' interest. Transfers away from this account will also incur this penalty.
The rate rise to this account has pushed it into the top 10 of its sector, something that will be noted by eager savers looking for a short-term home for their funds. The fact that it allows early access is also a bonus, although it does come at the expense of 180 days' loss of interest and the closure of the account.
Moneyfacts rating: Excellent
