Leeds Building Society has reduced the rates of its one, two and four-year fixed ISAs, but despite these decreases, all three have maintained a place in the Moneyfacts charts thanks to their ongoing appeal.
1 Year Fixed Rate ISA Issue 79 now pays a competitive rate of 1.65% on maturity (28.2.17), enabling it to remain among the top 10 accounts of its sector. Its two-year counterpart (Issue 74) pays 1.85% yearly until 28.2.18 while the four-year variant (Issue 4) pays a yearly rate of 2.30% until 1.3.20, both of which are also top-10 rates.
All accounts can be opened in branch, by post and online before becoming branch and postal-operated. A minimum investment of £100 is required. Savers should note that the first interest payments for the two and four-year ISAs are 28.2.17 and 1.3.17 respectively.
Additional deposits can be made until 31.3.16 and transfers in of both cash and stocks & shares ISAs are welcome. Unusually for the sector, early access is permitted upon the loss of 60 days' interest for the one-year ISA, and 150 and 300 days' interest respectively for the two and four-year accounts. Transfers away from these ISAs will incur the same penalties.
These ISAs may have undergone a rate reduction, but this hasn't diminished their competitive appeal. Indeed, all three have managed to maintain their hold in their respective sectors, which will entice savers who are looking to receive decent returns on their savings.
