Chorley & District Building Society has released two new cash NISAs, one of which has claimed a place in our best buy chart.
30 Day Notice Cash NISA Issue 1 is a 30-day notice account that pays 1.60% yearly on a minimum investment of £1,000 – a top 10 rate for its term.
Meanwhile, Fixed Rate Cash NISA Issue 1 offers a yearly rate of 1.80% until 5.4.14 on the same initial investment of £1,000.
The 30-day notice account can be opened and operated in branch and by post. Further additions are welcomed and transfers in from cash and stocks & shares ISAs are also accepted.
To access your funds penalty-free, at least 30 days' notice is required. However, you can access funds early if you are willing to lose 30 days' interest. Transfers out are possible under the same restrictions.
The fixed rate NISA can also be opened and operated in branch and by post. Further additions and transfers in from other ISAs are permitted and early access is also possible, although this results in closure of the account and a 90-day loss of interest. Transfers out will trigger a penalty of 90 days' loss of interest, too.
Compared with similar ISAs, the 30-day notice account has a competitive rate, enabling it to sit comfortably among the top 10 in its field. The benefit of early access adds to the eye-catching appeal of this NISA and it is sure to attract the attention of investors who are keen on having a tax-free savings account with flexibility.
