Secure Trust Bank has unleashed a highly competitive three-year fixed rate bond and 120-day notice account onto the market, both of which have secured market-leading positions in their respective sectors.
Fixed Rate Bond 3 Year Term (Series 10) has a rival-beating rate of 2.51% per annum until 31.1.18, winning it the top spot in its sector.
Meanwhile, 120 Day Notice (Issue 12) also has a highly competitive quarterly rate of 1.90%, making it a market-leader among similar accounts.
The finer details…
Both accounts must be opened online with a minimum deposit of £1,000, and can then be managed by post or phone.
Unusually for a fixed rate account, the bond allows further additions while the issue remains open. However, early access to funds prior to maturity is not permitted, so investors must be happy with the length of the three-year term.
The notice account welcomes further additions at any time, but like the bond, it does not allow early access. However, up to three capital withdrawals and four interest withdrawals can be made each year, provided 120 days' notice is always given.
Non-personal versions of these accounts are also available at the same rates for business customers.
Why we like it them…
These accounts have gone straight to the top of their respective markets because of their competitive terms, something that is sure to attract savers. Both offer market-leading rates and also offer the opportunity to make further additions. Although early access is not possible with either account, the potential of getting a great return on any investment is likely to reel in eager savers.
