Close Brothers Savings has made a slight reduction to its three-year fixed rate bond, but its competitive terms have ensured that its place in the Moneyfacts charts remains unchallenged.

The basics…

The three-year Select Gold Fixed Term Deposit now pays 2.40% yearly, allowing it to retain a place in the Moneyfacts charts.

The finer details…

This account must be opened and operated by post with a minimum deposit of £10,000.

Like many fixed rate deals, this account does not allow further additions or early access to funds. Savers must therefore ensure that they are happy with the amount they deposit and the length of the three-year term.

Why we like it…

This account may have received a slight reduction, but it still has plenty of appeal that will generate interest among savers. However, the lack of flexibility to add to funds or make withdrawals means that savers must make sure that they are comfortable locking their money away for the full term.

Moneyfacts rating: Excellent
