Skipton Building Society has reviewed its savings offerings and made some slight reductions. However, its five-year online ISA has beaten off its competitors and retained its position in the Moneyfacts charts.
Online 5 Year Fixed Rate ISA Issue 5 now has a competitive yearly rate of 2.15% (2.13% monthly), which has allowed it to keep its top 10 place. Meanwhile, the one-year version now pays 1.30% per annum (1.29% per month) and the two-year variant has a rate of 1.60% yearly (1.59% monthly). The three-year account pays 1.90% per annum (1.88% per month).
All of these accounts can be opened and managed online with a minimum deposit of £500.
Further additions are allowed while the issue remains open, and they also accept transfers in of cash and stocks & shares ISAs up to 30 days after the issue has closed. Early access to funds is possible, but only upon closure of the account and the loss of 240 days' interest. Transfers out are subject to this penalty, too.
All ISAs are available as non-online accounts, as well as fixed rate bonds, that can be opened and operated in branch and by post.
Despite the slight cut in rate, the five-year online ISA has held its own in the Moneyfacts charts and retained its top 10 position. The option to make transfers into this account and add further additions, along with the option to access funds prior to maturity, add to this account's appeal and ensure that it will catch the eye of eager investors.
Four Moneyfacts Stars have been awarded.
