Charter Savings Bank has increased the rate on its two-year fixed bond by 0.09%, which sees it move up the Best Buy chart for its sector, now sitting at the number two spot, and earns it a high rating.

The two-year Fixed Rate Bond now boasts a rate of 1.76%, paid on its anniversary. A monthly-interest version paying 1.75% is also available.

This online-only account requires a minimum investment of £1,000. It allows further additions for 14 days after account opening, but does not permit early access, so savers will have to ensure they won't need their funds for the entire term.
