Yorkshire Building Society has launched two new fixed rate ISAs onto the market, with the 18-month version proving to be particularly competitive.
The 18-month ISA Fixed Rate has a competitive rate of 1.50% yearly (1.49% monthly) fixed until 30.6.16 while its three-year counterpart has a rate of 1.90% yearly (1.88% monthly) until 31.1.18.
Both accounts can be opened and operated in branch and by post with an initial deposit of at least £100.
Further additions are welcomed while the issues remain open and it is also possible to transfer in existing cash and stocks & shares ISAs. Early access is permitted, but this is upon closure of the account and the loss of 90 days' interest for the 18-month ISA and 180 days' interest for the three-year version. Transfers away from these accounts will incur the same penalties.
Fixed rate bonds and e-bonds paying the same rate are available, too. Acounts offering the same rates are also provided through Norwich & Peterborough Building Society.
These accounts are likely to be popular among savers for their attractive rates and considerable flexibility. The 18-month ISA is particularly competitive and offers savers an enticing rate with an appealing monthly option for those who want to supplement their income. The ability to access funds prior to maturity is also a welcome feature, although this will result in closure and an interest penalty.
