Charter Savings Bank has reduced the rates paid on selected variable savings accounts by 0.15%, but despite this, three of its notice deals have retained their chart places.
95 Day Notice Issue 5 now pays a variable rate of 1.70% yearly (1.69% monthly), which remains a market-leading rate for its term. Similarly, the 180-day version (Issue 2) also continues to pay the top rate for its term of 1.85% yearly (1.83% monthly), while the 120-day variant (Issue 5) pays a competitive yearly rate of 1.80% (1.79% monthly).
The finer details…
These accounts must be opened and operated online with an initial investment of at least £1,000. Savers should note that access is via a nominated account.
Further additions are welcome at any time and an unlimited number of penalty-free withdrawals can be made. However, early access is not possible, so savers must always abide by the relevant notice period.
Why we like them…
These accounts may have had a slight rate decrease, but they are still forces to be reckoned with. Indeed, two of the deals remain market-leaders for their terms, which is sure to please savers on the hunt for an eye-catching rate. The option of earning monthly interest is also a boon, while the unlimited nature of both additions and withdrawals lends a great deal of flexibility.
