Manchester Building Society has launched a new 45-day notice savings account that boasts impressive interest rates. This has seen it slide into the Moneyfacts best buy charts.

The basics…

Platinum Notice Issue 5 is a variable rate savings account with a current rate of 1.51%. It operates on a 45-day notice period.

The finer details…

Investors need to deposit at least £1,000 into this account, which can be opened and operated in branch or by post. No early access is allowed, so 45 days' notice must always be given to access funds. However, further additions are welcomed.

Why we like it…

The rate paid by this new offering makes it a market leader among accounts with notice periods of less than 60 days, so is likely to prove highly attractive to investors looking for an account with a short-term notice period.

Four Moneyfacts Stars have been awarded.
