Santander has launched a new issue of its regular savings account, which retains the number three spot in the Best Buy chart for its sector and earns itself a high Moneyfacts rating.
The Regular eSaver Issue 4 boasts a variable rate of 2.50%, which is paid on its anniversary.
This account requires a minimum initial investment of just £1, and requires customers to have or open a Santander current account for all transactions. There is no penalty for missed payments and no minimum number of payments, with the maximum monthly deposit standing at £200.
Unlimited contributions (up to the monthly maximum) are allowed, with additions having to be made via standing order. Unusually for this sector, an unlimited number of withdrawals can also be made, though it should be noted that withdrawn funds cannot be replaced. The account can be opened in branch or over the phone, and then operated online and by mobile app.
The rate on this account remains attractive, with the flexibility it offers only adding to its appeal. It therefore fully deserves its top three spot in the Best Buys and its high rating.
Moneyfacts rating: Excellent
