Yorkshire Building Society has boosted the rate of its three-year fixed rate e-bond by 0.10%, pushing it further up the Moneyfacts charts.

The basics…

The three-year version of the Fixed Rate E-Bond has a rate of 2.40% yearly (2.37% monthly) until 30.11.17, sitting just below the current market-leaders. The first interest payment will be on 30.11.15.

The finer details…

This deal must be opened and managed online with an initial investment of at least £1,000. Further additions are welcomed while the issue remains open, but access to funds prior to maturity is not allowed.

This bond is also available as a branch or post-operated account offering the same rate. Chelsea Building Society and Barnsley Building Society also offer versions of the account.

Why we like it…

Thanks to the rate increase, this e-bond has moved further up the Moneyfacts charts – something that is bound to attract the interest of investors. While early access to funds is not permitted, the option of making further additions or securing a monthly rate adds flexibility to this account, securing its status as a best buy.

Four Moneyfacts Stars have been awarded.
