Virgin Money has increased the rate on its easy access savings account and launched a very competitive notice account.

The basics…

Virgin Money's Easy Access Saver now pays 1.51% yearly (or 1.50% monthly) on a minimum investment of just £1. There is also an online version – Easy Access E-Saver paying the same rate.

Meanwhile, the provider's 100 Day Notice Saver account pays 1.75% yearly (or 1.74% monthly) on a minimum deposit of £5,000. Again there is an internet version paying the same rate.

The finer details…

Savers can enjoy unlimited penalty-free withdrawals with the Easy Access Saver account. It also permits further additions.

As its name suggests, in order to withdraw funds from Virgin's notice account savers must give 100 days' notice. Further additions will be allowed.

Why we like them…

Virgin Money's 100 Day Notice Saver pays a competitive rate, and heads straight into the top three of comparable accounts.

For savers looking for more flexibility, the provider's easy access account also pays a great rate.

Four Moneyfacts Stars have been awarded.
