Your Guide to Switching Business Energy

The energy regulator Ofgem has found that businesses who fail to renegotiate their energy contract or switch supplier could be facing rates 50% higher than those on negotiated contracts.

Despite this, many businesses still see switching energy suppliers as an overly complicated and time-consuming process. This often leads to businesses simply allowing their energy contracts to roll over to expensive default tariffs.

In this guide, Love Energy Savings show how your business can quickly switch your energy contract and reduce your outgoings.

The switching process explained

The easiest way to compare business energy contracts is to use a specialist business energy broker.

By comparing with Love Energy Savings, you can avoid investing time going from supplier to supplier to find the best rates. Instead, you can view the best energy deals on the market almost immediately by entering a few simple details about your business.

With Love Energy Savings, you can complete your switch in 3 simple steps:

Step 1 – Complete an online comparison

Businesses can now compare energy tariffs by simply entering their business postcode and a few contact details.

Step 2 – Choose the right deal for you

You’ll be provided with a range of the best energy tariffs on the market, allowing you to simply choose the best deal for your business.

Step 3 – Sit back, relax, and save!

Once you’ve selected your chosen tariff, your broker will liaise with your suppliers to ensure your switch is as smooth as possible.

Your renewal window

All businesses need to be aware of the renewal window in their energy contract.

Business energy contracts are usually longer than domestic contracts and you may not be able to shop around for a new deal until you enter your renewal window, which is usually 12 months.

Your energy bill or contract should clearly show when your current contract is up for renewal and when you’re allowed to switch suppliers. If you can’t find this information, you can contact your energy supplier directly.

Energy suppliers are only required to send micro-businesses renewal letters informing them of renewal dates and their right to switch, so businesses should make note of when their renewal window opens.

Reasons to switch your business energy contract

There are many reasons to switch business energy contracts from reducing your bills to choosing a tariff that suits your business needs.

It’s always recommended for businesses to consider what they need from their energy contract before diving into a price comparison, but if you’re unsure, one of our friendly team can help you decide.

Make savings

On average, a typical business customer at Love Energy Savings can save over £875 when switching business energy contracts.

It’s quick and easy

Switching your business energy contract has never been easier and the entire switching process can be managed on your behalf.

Loyalty is rarely rewarded

In most cases, new customers will have access to the best prices and there is little reward for loyalty in the energy market.

More control of your bills

Switching contracts can allow you to take control of your bills – if you have more than one site you can even consider multi-site options.

Select your tariff type

Do you want to pay a fixed or variable rate for your energy? Do you want to avoid daily standing charges? You can choose a tariff the best suits your needs.

Discover green options

If your business is environmentally conscious, you can switch to a green energy deal offering more renewable and sustainable energy.

The whole process was quick and pain-free

“Martin at Love Energy Savings was a pleasure to deal with, he contacted me to make sure I didn’t roll onto out of contract rates and talked me through the best prices available. The whole process was quick and pain-free

With Love Energy it’s not just about the savings, their customer service is second to none. Having a dedicated Account Manager ensuring I’m on the best prices year after year takes away the worry that we will roll onto premium prices.”

Amit Ruia, Managing Director at Osan – saved £2,460 against renewal letter quote
