The expertise of the Moneyfacts team is regularly in demand with journalists and media outlets across the financial services and national spectrum. Here's a quick overview of some of the places we've been in the news recently:

  • Moneyfacts.co.uk finance expert Charlotte Nelson's buy-to-let figures were used by both The Times and Mortgage Strategy, with her report spurring on landlords in both publications to remortgage while rates are still low.

  • Our mortgage data also featured in the Scotsman, reporting on the recent welcome decrease in the average two-year fixed mortgage rate, while Mortgage Strategy noted that this rate had since bounced back up again.

  • The Economist's article on Sharia'a finance also made use of Moneyfacts' savings expertise, as it pointed out that many of the top savings rates are coming from Sharia'a compliant accounts.

  • Elsewhere, FT Adviser talked about saving for university, with Moneyfacts finance expert Rachel Springall suggesting that "parents need to drum in the importance of budgeting and saving so that their children don't overspend and have no cash to fall back on in times of need."

  • Other mentions include This Is Money, which used Moneyfacts interest rate figures in their article on older homeowners, while Money Expert made use of our latest standard variable rate statistics, and Your Money and What Investment also referred to recent well-received Moneyfacts press releases in their savings articles.
