The 2021 pet insurance Moneyfacts Annual Star Ratings have been revealed, making it easier for pet owners to find the best pet insurance policies available on the market.

A full list of the pet insurance deals that have been given a five or four Moneyfacts star rating can be found on our pet insurance page.

When deciding which products should be awarded a star rating, a team of experts at Moneyfacts analyse thousands of products across 16 categories, ranging from business and personal finance products to insurance and investment products, in which extensive analysis of more than 2,000 data fields is done to make the final decisions.

Commenting on the star rating announcement, Samantha Owens, star ratings and personal finance analytics manger at Moneyfacts, said: “With the interest in pet ownership on the rise, for those looking to embark on this long-term relationship, it is essential their animals have the best care possible.

“When a pet becomes sick or is involved in an accident, the cost to get them back on track can easily run into thousands of pounds, so taking out insurance can protect owners from the shock of those sudden costs.

“But with hundreds of products for cat and dog insurance, it can prove hard to find the best product for each budget and the Moneyfacts Annual Star Ratings for pet insurance can take away some of this work, allowing customers to filter down to the best products they can afford by highlighting the most comprehensive products with the most competitive limits.”
