Purely Pets was highly commended for Pet Insurance Provider of the year 2021 at the Moneyfacts Consumer Awards last month. Analysts at Moneyfacts reviewed the policies of selected pet insurers to create a shortlist. These then went forward to a public vote to decide the winners, highly commended and commended brands.

Ross Hallifax, Director at Purely Pets, commented: “Our customers, and their pets, are at the heart of every decision we make, and to have been recognised by them at these awards is a fantastic achievement for the whole team. What a great way to start the year.”

How does a lifetime pet insurance policy work from Purely Pets?

A lifetime pet insurance policy offers protection for accidents and illnesses for the pet’s lifetime if the policyholder keeps paying their premiums. All lifetime polices from Purely Pets include a pot of money each year that will cover all accidents and illnesses. This means that pets continue to be covered even for new conditions or illnesses they may develop over time.

The Purely Pets 24-hour vet helpline

This is a free advice line for all Purely Pets customers offering information about all health matters relating to the insured pet. The service is provided by the Vet Connection and their veterinary nurses. The nurses all have at least three years’ practical experience and are registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). The line is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Policyholders of Purely Pets can call the helpline with any concerns or queries they have about their insured pet’s health. The veterinary nurse will be able to advise the policyholder if they need to take their pet to the vet or if they can be treated at home. The veterinary nurse can also use a video calling service if this will help them to assess the condition of the pet more accurately. The advice line can also provide guidance about on-going matters, such as feeding, nutrition, buying a puppy or kitten and travelling with pets. Those with pets that have undergone treatment or an operation can also call the helpline for guidance and information about their pet’s health.

Five-star rated pet insurance

Moneyfacts also reviews pet insurance policies to identify those with the best levels of cover. The best ones are given a five-star rating. In addition to being highly commended as a pet insurance provider, Purely Pets’ Lifetime Gold and Silver policies have also been five-star rated.
