The expertise of the Moneyfacts team is regularly in demand from news outlets and journalists across the national and financial spectrum, with many relying on our up-to-the-minute data and insightful quotes to inform their stories. Here are just a few places we’ve been in the news this week.

Our story on the increase in 40-year mortgage terms has been used in a number of publications, including Daily Mail, Financial Reporter, Money Expert, Mortgage Finance Gazette, Mortgage Introducer, Mortgage Solutions, Mortgage Strategy, The Guardian, What Mortgage, Your Money, Your Mortgage, Buy Association, and Credit-Connect. Commenting on the growth in 40-year mortgage terms, Darren Cook, one of our financial experts, said: “Historically, a standard mortgage term generally amounted to a period of 25 years, but a growing majority of products are now available to be extended for a period of 40 years. By extending their mortgage term, borrowers may be looking to reduce their monthly repayments and therefore are more likely to meet strict affordability requirements.”

During the week, our story on the number of fixed rate bond providers who cut rates in September was used by Your Money, while the NE Evening Mail used our story on ethical savings. This week our stories also appeared in the Daily Mail, Moose Gazette, MSN, This is Money and Yahoo! Finance.

Elsewhere, our data was used by a number of publications, including Best Advice, Mortgage Introducer, Mortgage Strategy, The Money Pages, Which?, The Yorkshire Post and The Times.

Our financial experts are often in demand, and this week they have been busy providing work for The Sun, Your Money and The Telegraph.
