Yorkshire BS has introduced a new 18-month bond which jumps straight to the top of the class.

Paying 3.50%, the new branch or telephone operated bond now offers the best rate in its field.

Additional investments are welcomed while the issue remains open, but early access to the money is not allowed.

Four out of five Moneyfacts stars have been awarded.

A new three-year fixed rate e-bond paying 3.65% has also been introduced at the same time.
