Skipton BS has increased the rate on its two-year discounted variable rate mortgage by 0.10%. Despite this, the deal remains competitive enough to stay at the top of the Best Buy chart for remortgagors, earning our highest rating in the process.

The basics…

This mortgage is now priced at 1.39% (3.35% disc) for two years, at 60% loan-to-value. Its fee has been reduced to just £495.

The finer details…

The deal is offered to all borrowers with the necessary deposit. It comes with an incentive package of free valuation fees for all and free legal fees for remortgagors, as well as the option to make overpayments and take payment holidays, provided certain conditions are met.

Why we like it…

Due to its still-low rate, competitive fee and incentives, this product provides a great option for those looking to take advantage of a discounted variable rate deal. Being particularly competitive for remortgagors, it has earned its place in that Best Buy chart as well as the highest available rating.

Moneyfacts rating: Outstanding
