Gatehouse Bank has increased selected rates by up to 0.23%, which sees its two-year fixed bond move into third place, while its three and five-year accounts now pay the market-leading rates for their respective sectors, earning the three-year bond the coveted first-place spot to boot. All three fixed bonds earn a high Moneyfacts rating.

The basics…

The two-year Fixed Term Deposit now boasts a near market-leading expected profit rate of 2.14%, while the three-year equivalent pays the market-leading 2.33% and the five-year bond is also a market-leader over its term, with a rate of 2.68%. Interest is paid on their anniversary for these accounts and must be paid away.

The finer details…

These online-only accounts require a minimum investment of £1,000. Additions and early access are not permitted, so savers will want to make sure they're happy with their investment and certain they won't need their funds for the entirety of their chosen term. Note that this is a Sharia'a compliant account, so the rate mentioned is the expected profit rate. If you want to know more about this type of account before you commit, we have a guide on the subject.

Why we like them…

The appealing rates on offer are more than enough to see these bonds earn their high places in the Best Buys, as well as a high rating.

Moneyfacts rating: Excellent
