Ikano Bank has increased the rate on selected fixed term bonds by up to 0.15%, which sees its two-year deal enter the Best Buy chart for its sector, earning it a high rating in the process.

The basics…

The Fixed 2 Year Saver now boasts a rate of 1.97%, paid on its anniversary. A monthly version paying a slightly reduced rate is also available.

The finer details…

This online-only account requires a minimum investment of £1,000. It allows further additions for 14 days after account opening, but does not permit early access, so savers will have to ensure they won't need their funds for the entire two years.

Why we like it…

The increased rate on this account has made it attractive enough to earn a place in the Best Buy chart for its sector, as well as a high rating.

Moneyfacts rating: Excellent
