Secure Trust Bank has launched a new one and three-year fixed rate bond, as well as a market-leading 90-day notice account. All have entered the Best Buys, the notice account at number one and the bonds placing within the top three, earning a high rating in the process.

The basics…

The Fixed Rate Bond 1 Year Term (Series 12) boasts a rate of 1.61% paid yearly, fixed to 24.03.2018, while the three-year (Series 11) pays 2.00% per year to 24.03.2020. The 90 Day Notice (Issue 4) pays a quarterly rate of 1.34% (1.35% AER), which is currently the market-leading rate among notice accounts.

Versions of the accounts with the same features are also available for business customers, with the notice account being competitive and highly rated there as well.

The finer details…

All accounts require a minimum investment of £1,000. The bonds do not allow withdrawals, but will permit additions while the respective issue remains open. The notice account allows unlimited additions of at least £1,000 as well as three capital withdrawals and four interest withdrawals per calendar year upon 90 days' notice, with no earlier access permitted. The accounts have to be opened online, after which they can be managed by post and over the phone.

Why we like them…

The highly competitive rates on the bonds and the market-leading notice rate have easily earned these accounts their high places in the Best Buys, as well as their high rating.

Moneyfacts rating: Excellent
