Vanquis Bank is riding high in our long-term fixed rate bond Best Buy chart, after revealing a market-leading rate rise this week.

The basics…

Now paying 2.61% AER, Vanquis Bank Savings stands out with its five-year term.

The finer details…

The bond requires a minimum deposit of £1,000, but will not accept additional deposits or allow early access to funds. It must be opened online, but can then be managed by post and over the phone as well.

Why we like it…

This Best Buy bond is perfect if you have a lump sum that you want to put away for five years and make a decent return. The inability to access funds ahead of maturity must be a major consideration, but the rate is currently second to none.

Moneyfacts rating: Excellent
