Wyelands Bank has improved the rates on selected fixed term bonds by up to 0.45%, which sees its two-year account jump into the number one spot of the Best Buy chart for its sector, as its 12-month bond also finds its way into the charts. Both earn a high rating as a result.

The basics…

The 24 Month Fixed Term Account now boasts the market-leading rate of 2.15% paid on its anniversary, while the 12-month equivalent pays a near market-leading 1.85% on maturity. Interest must be compounded on these accounts, which are also available as monthly-paying deals with a slightly reduced rate.

The finer details…

These online-only accounts require a minimum investment of £5,000. Additions are allowed for 14 days after account opening via a nominated account, but early access is not permitted. So, savers may want to make certain they won't need their funds for the entirety of their chosen term.

Why we like them…

The two-year deal's chart-topping rate makes it especially appealing, but the one-year option also charms with its near-leading rate. Both therefore easily earn their places in the Best Buys as well as a high rating.

Moneyfacts rating: Excellent
