How do we decide which personal current accounts should get top marks?

Every year, Moneyfacts reviews the current accounts available and rates these based on their product features and the benefits they bring to consumers. This includes how easy it is for consumers to open and use the accounts, the availability of credit interest and any penalties charged. The Moneyfacts analysts also review the value of introductory offers, incentives and additional products such as travel insurance, vehicle breakdown and retail discounts. The ones that come out best receive our top score of five stars.
