We started planting a tree for every e-Account that is opened in March 2023, and smashed through our 2023 target of 10,000 trees by the end of the year. This year, we’re aiming to plant a total of 25,000 trees by the end of 2024. Through our partnership with Ecologi, a highly-regarded UK-based climate platform, trees are planted in Madagascar, Mozambique, Nicaragua and Kenya by local villagers, where the opportunity is greatest - perhaps where deforestation has occurred, or there is a high risk of land erosion. Hiring local villagers to plant the trees helps alleviate poverty, and provides an economic incentive to ensure the wellbeing of the restoration project.
